Buddha Memorial Hall ( 佛陀纪念馆 )

Today, I took more picture than the total picture I took for the past 7 days in Taiwan! As planned, we went to 佛光山 (Fo Guang Shan Monastery) and spend half a day there. There is one new Buddha Memorial Hall which located just next to it. When we first reach there, we were expecting something more or less like the old Monastery. To our astonishment, totally out of expectation!

We spend the whole morning visiting the old monastery and of course taken lots of pictures. Like any other Buddhist Temple, they have all those worshipping hall with magnificent architecture. But they also have alot of other buildings and Theme Park, Pagoda which are quite an eye openener.

However, when we reached the new Buddha Memorial Hall, we were totally awed by the interior design and architecture. How we wish we have chose to visit this first before going to the monastery. So, piece of advice for those who wish to pay a visit, you could really spend whole day in the memorial hall if you want to.

The first thing that cross my mind about a temple is lots and lots of incense...but when we entered, we thought we were in the wrong place, probably somewhere in a shopping mall or what. Coz thats exactly what it is...a shopping mall with starbucks and other shoplots!

Starbucks in a monastery??!!!!

WOW!!!! Totally breathtaking and magnificent.

There are a total of eight pagoda each with different theme and exhibition hall

The feeling was so grandiose! You can instantly feel the aura emitted from this place!

There is a huge buddha Statue at the far end of the Memorial Hall with another 4 pagoda infront

At the end of the pathway, we thought we might finally see some typical temple with all the inscense and worshipping crowd, again, we were wrong! This is one of the exhibition hall with the laughing buddha wishing every visitors luck. Most interesting of all, he is actually moving his lips!!!

Bathing the buddha ( 浴佛 )

A very creative concept in which visitor just have to put both your hands in the plate, the projector will randomly project an auspicious wish for you. Close your hand and bring that wish home! Mr James got wealth and I got something I always wanted - peace (祥和)

Really a very worthwhile visit! The magnificent architecture will always be in my memory. Today, I was so impressed!

After the visit, we went to Eda World (义大世界), something like Sunway and Genting in Malaysia. Time was pretty late, so we didn't enter their theme park. Just spend the night there in the shopping mall, which was quite something also~ For more picture, kindly visit my facebook here. Will update very very soon, until then ciao~
