WuXi (无锡)

Was quite a week, with new semester new posting.....means have to start working very hard to make sure I can graduate as a medical doctor next year~ Sigh, life has never been easy eh? But if life was not hard, you would never have known how much potential you have and how far you could actually go. So I start off the week by annoying the college manager, some other unimportant people, most interestingly, I even debated lecturers and coaches from UPM! How did it even take place? Just a research week program and they decided to have a friendly match between the lecturers and students~ Results? Needless to say, we were bashed~

Its my grumpy nature all over again~ Lets back to business~ So we were here in WuXi... What place is this? Still within JiangNan of course~ Again, story time~ As you might very well remember in my previous post SuZhou, I did mentioned about this ancient King Fu-Cai from Wu-Kingdom. He defeated King Gou-Jian from Yue-Kingdom in the Wu-Yue War as a vengeance to his father the late King He-Lv who lost and died in a war between him and Gou-Jian. After Gou-Jian was defeated, he was enslaved for 10 years in Wu-Kingdom. Gou-Jian had a very smart and knowledgeable counselor name Fan-Li. He presented a very pretty girl name Xi-Shi to King Fu-Cai as part of his plan to release Gou-Jian. Who is this girl Xi-Shi? There wasn't alot of girls name who appeared in China history due to the patriarchal society at that time. When they do appear, they are always significantly associated with a historical event. Xi-Shi together with 3 other pretty girls in history were also know as The Ancient Four Beauties.

With Xi-Shi's persuasions and Fan-Li's plans, Gou-Jian was released after 10 years of slavery in Wu-Kingdom. With the help of Fan-Li and other counselors, he successfully defeated Fu-Cai in his vengeance attack. This time, Fu-Cai was killed and ended the wellknown Wu-Yue War. After their success, Fan-Li who understood his master Gou-Jian very well, decided to leave the Kingdom and lived in seclusion  somewhere near Tai-Hu Lake(太湖) with his lover Xi-Shi!!! Shocking eh? How did a guy ever able to present the women he love the most to another guy? A great person did I guess~ Fan-Li's prediction was true though, as Gou-Jian killed everyone who helped him regained power and defeated Wu-Kingdom later in his reign.

WuXi was hence very famous for Tai-Hu Lake because of Fan-Li and Xi-Shi

So 20 years ago, when they filmed it into drama series, they built this Three Kingdom City just beside Tai-Hu~ Awesome eh?~
