Sun-Moon-Lake and Aboriginal Village~(日月潭+九族文化村)

The story dated back to exactly three weeks ago on the day we left Kaohsiung, heading for Sun-Moon-Lake. The plan was to take the high Speed Train to Taichung and deposit our luggage in the train station. Then take the shuttle bus directly reaching Sun-Moon-Lake. Piece of advice for those who are planning to go, please allocate at least 2 nights of stay there, or else you will end up like us, totally wasted and regret~

Sun-Moon-Lake will take about a day to tour, on top of that, there is an aboriginal cultural village with theme park located there which will take another day. We on the other hand reached there around noon and left the next day noon.....Imagine what we missed....... =.=

Photobucket
We drag our 4 weeks luggage all the way from KMU to MRT station about 15 minutes walk away...and then take the MRT to Zuo Ying HSR Train Station~

Photobucket
Waiting for the HSR train in Zuo Ying Station

Photobucket
Finally when everyone was seated.....already looked so exhausted and tired.

Photobucket
You need to take another train from Taichung HSR Station to reach their bus station

Photobucket
Finally after alot of hard work and tiring journey, we reached our destination~

Photobucket
Need to take the intra-lake Shuttle bus to reach our hostel~

Photobucket
Here it is~ Might look abit inconspicuous, but the rooms are really great!

Photobucket
They even have a Japanese style room for the high turnover rate of Jap's travelers

Photobucket
The room was fit for a 3 star hotel~ But with very economic charge~

Photobucket
The cable car to the cultural village is just a distance walk from our hostel

Photobucket
The cable car station

Photobucket
The journey up the mountainsss were about 15 minutes

Lunch before going in

Photobucket
We reached the top part of the village which comprises of alot of different aboriginal villages. We decided to first tour the theme park as time was really limited and we need to be at the cable car station before 4.30pm.

Photobucket
The theme park was located at the foot of the mountain which required another trip of cable car~

Photobucket
The different villages of each tribes were visible from top~

Photobucket
The theme park was divided into a few themes...this is one of them - the Mayan adventures~

Photobucket
Special "One-Piece" exhibition in the Mayan's pyramid

Photobucket
Pirates of the Caribbean~~~

Photobucket
Imagine to be soaked to your skin in such altitude and weather~

Photobucket
Aladdin's Square

Photobucket
Now the problem is, two of us wana play, another two prefer to just watch~ That wouldn't be right, so after some persuasion, Mr. James agreed to go for pirate ship(sap sap sui la~)

Photobucket
Round of applause for his courage~

Photobucket

Photobucket
Before~

Photobucket
After~

Photobucket
HAHA!

Photobucket
Another round?~

Photobucket
Some persuasion of course~

Photobucket

Photobucket
Uninteresting~

Photobucket
Ok la~

Photobucket
Still acceptable~

Photobucket
Cheese~~~

Photobucket
The European Garden~

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Here comes the exciting part~

Photobucket
Space Shot!!! Damn good~ The feeling of free fall was just exhilarating~ As though you are gona just fall and die~ Too bad time was cutting us short, or we would really go for the second and third try~

Photobucket
Time to return to the top for cultural village tour

Photobucket
Each tribe has their own cultural shows. Make sure you plan properly and take note of the timetable of each show. We missed all of them~ >.<

Photobucket
Showing the ritual sacrifice ceremony of one of the tribe

Photobucket
Witch doctors~ No doubt they were all wax, still gave a very eerie feeling~

Photobucket
Total time we spend in the Aboriginal Cultural Village was around 3-4 hours..... Now how much have we missed? Better not think about it~ (Heart pain.....)

Photobucket
There is a night market just next to our hostel

Photobucket
It was firefly breeding seasons~ Night time stroll for firefly viewing~

Photobucket
OK! Caught one~

Photobucket
Can't really see right?~

Photobucket
Here we go~

Photobucket
Ahh~~~~ first time seeing such magnificent creatures~

Photobucket
Seems to be quite famous with the long queue

Photobucket
Chicken with glutinous rice

Photobucket
Totally overated~

Photobucket
Another must try in Sun-Moon-Lake is their Assam Red Tea~

Photobucket
It has that very unique fragrance

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Don't really remember how it tasted~ But definitely yummy~

Photobucket
Yam Cake! Super nice....very smooth without the usual hard texture we get in Malaysia~ Plus, the crispy outer cover was simply great!

Photobucket
Another round of Assam Tea~

Photobucket
Milk tea...

Photobucket
Rice wine is also a must try

Photobucket
Very nice~ Even for amateur drinker like me~

Photobucket
The next day, we packed and ready to tour the lake with our backpack~

Photobucket
100 NTD for full ticket~

Photobucket
Very very packed

Photobucket
Not really in the mood because of the very tight schedule...and so we opted for the bus station earlier

Photobucket
Wow~

Photobucket
In the station~

The same process, we reached Taichung, claim our deposited luggage and board the bus to Taipei~ Our Taipei journey? Perhaps another day~ Stay tune!
