Last Day In Taipei

I was writing this entry with a great heave of relief, very different from the feeling we were having on that very day though. To be exact, we had been in Taiwan for a total of 28 days, and leaving was somewhat with a mixture of emotions. Taiwan people are really warm and friendly, that make you feel so welcome and accepted. Unlike some other place which treated you as though you are just an extra bits of junk, constantly asking you to go back to where you are from. How pathetic that one day you are more accepted in your neighbor's house than your father's house. At least that was what I were feeling on that particular day.

Back to our story though, our plan for the day was to visit the Palace Museum(故宫博物馆), Chiang-Kai-Sek Memorial Hall(中正纪念堂) and Xi-Men-Ting(西门町). Here, I would like to highly recommend the Palace Museum for those who really love history and relics. I could have spend whole day there just to listen to each and every stories being told about each relics, and to appreciate them using the point of view of some great historic figures.

Taken infront of the Museum..... We get a free ticket from the Taiwan Tourism Centre~

All these relics was taken away by Chiang-Kai-Sek after KMT being defeated by the communist in 1949.
Hence, there was this saying that Taipei Palace Museum has treasure but not the land, whereas Beijing Palace Museum has the land but not the treasure. (台北故宫有宝没有地,北京故宫有地没有宝)

Again, the tour guide service was free of charge~ Too bad no camera beyond this point~ Nevertheless, I truely enjoyed this 1 1/2 hours tour with those great stories being told.

After that, we went to Xi-Men-Ting

Photobucket
More accurately, we came for this!

Photobucket
We have been told by netizens and some friends that they regretted for not ordering 2 bowl of this Ah-Chung Noodle.... Look at the crowd and it was not even peak hour yet~

Photobucket
Quite nice~ Worth a try but not till the extend of SUPER NICE~ Again, different people with different preferences~

Photobucket
After the noodle, we decided to have some dumplings~ There is this shop just next to Ah-Chung Noodle~ Totally bad decision.....This particular shop compulsory a minimum expenditure of 100 NTD per person! Which totally pissed us off! Plus, the onion pan cake was more like a dough of floor and oil! Yucks!

Chiang-Kai-Sek Memorial Hall(中正纪念堂)

Very magnificent building

This one moves his eyelids abit~ha!

Photobucket
The statue is even larger than Dr. Sun-Yet-San statue in Nanjing's Zhong-Shan's Mausoleum

Photobucket
A large exhibition hall underneath the building~

Photobucket
Bullet proved car~

Photobucket
We decided to end the night with Taiwan's famous snacks... which means eating from the head of a night market till the end~

Photobucket
Pork soup~

Photobucket
Very commonly seen in almost all night market

Photobucket
The bread was first fried and then add in a mixture of materials

Photobucket
Yummy

Photobucket
Frog eggs~~~~ Just some jelly like drinks~

Photobucket
Very refreshing

Photobucket
Sausage

Photobucket
With an assorted flavour

Photobucket
And of course their famous fried chicken

Photobucket
Very nice~

Photobucket
How can you omit their stinky tofu in Taiwan~~~ I am not sure since when but I started to fall in love with this food~ You must eat together with the vege and their sauce~ Again, their tofu is just stinky to smell, but not when you put in your mouth.

Photobucket
The famous Ding Tai Feng originated from Taiwan~

Photobucket
Mmmm...hmmmm~ =P

Photobucket
Taipei airport~ Goodbye Taiwan~~~ and thank you for the great hospitality~

Here are all my journeys in Taiwan...I hope you find it informative and useful, perhaps even interesting....
One thing I would like to remind each and everyone who wanted to visit this place, don't ever take Supertaste(时尚玩家) too seriously. Basically they just film everything and tried each stalls within the parameter of that particular episodes. In the end you will find that the whole night market are full with their photos and recommendation videos. Then you get so lost on whether or not you should try all of them~ Which most of them are either over rated or disappointing~ My advice is, follow your senses and instinct~ Just try whatever you feel like trying~ They are very different from Malaysia's food and hence very interesting and new to you. I am sure you will find it very acceptable, without the unnecessary expectation you have after watching all these programs. Thank you for reading my Taiwan Journey and hope that you will continue to read my China journey instead~~~ XD
